Next Steps Made Simple: Turning Your Truss Estimate into Reality
You’ve got your estimate in hand. Now what? At Truss Components, we want this next part of the process to feel simple, clear, and smooth. Whether you’re building a single home or managing multiple projects, knowing what happens after the estimate helps everything move faster and with fewer surprises.
Step One: Connect with Your Sales Representative
Once you’ve reviewed your estimate and you're ready to move forward, the first step is to connect with your sales representative. They’ll ask you a few questions about where your project stands. Do you already have your permit? Are you still waiting on it? Is your foundation poured, or are you a couple of weeks out from framing? The answers help us determine your timeline and when you’ll actually be ready for your trusses or wall panels.
Step Two: Decide on a Payment Method
The next step is to figure out payment. We accept checks, ACH, credit cards, and cash. If you’re doing multiple jobs, we may recommend setting up a credit account to keep things running smoothly. Either way, getting payment settled early avoids delays down the line.
Step Three: Provide the Delivery Address and Site Contact
Then we’ll need your full delivery address. That includes the cross street so we don’t accidentally map to the wrong location. We’ll also ask for a site contact, someone our driver can reach on delivery day. A name, phone number and email address are ideal. This is also when we talk through anything that might make delivery tricky, such as low power lines, steep driveways, or tight corners. We’ve seen it all, and most of the time we can work around it with a little heads-up.
Step Four: Confirm Design Details and Plans
Once we’ve got those logistics nailed down, your rep will double-check the design details. Are we still going exactly by the plan? Have there been any changes? Sometimes estimates are made from early drafts, so we’ll ask for the most current set of approved plans, ideally the ones reviewed by your local jurisdiction. If needed, we might recommend a site visit before finalizing production. That comes with an extra fee, but it’s worth it if it prevents costly fixes later.
Step Five: Sign the Purchase Agreement
When everything looks good, we’ll send over a purchase agreement for your signature. That’s our green light to start production on your trusses or wall panels, exactly according to the drawings we've finalized together. If anything in the paperwork feels unclear, just ask. We’re happy to walk through it with you.
Step Six: Prepare for Delivery
As your delivery date approaches, you’ll get a confirmation email with the expected delivery day. A day or two before the drop, our shipping manager will call to confirm a delivery window. On delivery day, you’ll need to have someone on-site to assist with offloading. We bring the equipment for the heavy lifting, but we’ll need a hand unhooking chains and guiding materials safely down.
